Amanda Cook, MS, LMFT

Are you facing challenges in your marriage that feel overwhelming?  Does your family feel out of control?  Are you ready for change but aren’t sure where to start?

I can help.  I enjoy working with couples, families and individuals to understand the problem and to find practical, creative solutions.

I use evidence based therapies in my work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families.  I am equipped to help with a variety of issues, such as: marital conflict, intimacy issues, relational conflict, family issues, parenting, premarital counseling, spirituality, anxiety, and life stage/transition issues.

My clients have found me to be approachable,  kind and gently direct.   I am committed to treating you and your story with respect and compassion and to helping you build skills that lead to a more satisfying life.

I have a Master’s degree in Family Psychology from Capella University and a post-Master’s certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary’s University.  I am trained in the Prepare/Enrich assessment that is used for pre-marital therapy as well as marriage enrichment.  I work part-time as a staff counselor at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul where I provide counseling to college students.  I am also a part of Wellspring Group.
